Instagram Professional Accounts are designed for creators and businesses. They provide access to features that are not available on personal accounts, including:

There are two types of Professional Accounts; Creator or Business
Creator vs Business Accounts #
Both Creator and Business accounts work with Auto DM Studio, so choose the option that best matches how you use Instagram.

Which Should I Choose? #
Choose a Creator Account if:

- You rely on trending music and audio in your Reels.
- Your primary goal is audience growth and engagement.
Choose a Business Account if:

- You want to use Instagram Shopping features.
- You need business-focused contact options and customer communication tools.
For most creators and influencers, a Creator Account is usually the best choice. For stores, brands, and companies, a Business Account is generally recommended.
Step 1: Open Instagram Settings #
- Open the Instagram app on your mobile device.
- Navigate to your profile (tap the icon in the bottom right corner).
- Tap the menu icon (☰) in the top-right corner.
- Scroll down to the Your insights and tools section and select Account type and tools.
Step 2: Switch to a Professional Account #
- Inside Account type and tools select Switch to professional account.
- Tap Next, and select the category that best describes your account.
- Tap Switch to professional profile.
Step 3: Select Creator or Business #
Choose the account type that best matches your needs Creator or Business. See above for comparison.
Both account types work with Auto DM Studio.
Step 4: Verify Your Account Is Professional #
To confirm the change was successful:
- Open Instagram Settings.
- Navigate to Account Type and Tools.
You should now see Professional Account options and tools available within Instagram.
Step 5: Connect Instagram to Auto DM Studio #
Once your Professional Account is ready:
- Open your WordPress dashboard.
- Navigate to Auto DM Studio → Instagram → Authentication.
- Click Authenticate.
- Sign-in and complete the Instagram authorization process.
- Select the Instagram account you wish to connect.
After authorization is complete, you’ll be able to create Instagram DM automations and comment-triggered workflows.

Common reasons include:
